Hanover Plumbing & Gas was born out of the right mix of skills, drive and timing. Run by Certifying Plumber, Gasfitter and Drainlayer Gavin Hanover and his wife Kimberly, the business was created in June 2015.

Originally from Whakatane, Gavin spent many years dairy farming from the Bay of Plenty to Northland. He began working as a plumber in 2006, when he and his wife moved to her hometown of New Plymouth. Gavin is a Certifying Plumber, Gasfitter and Drainlayer. He has always wanted to run his own business and is enjoying managing people as well as being on the tools.
With a background as a teacher, Kimberly’s administrative and organisational skills are supporting the business part-time as it’s continuing to grow. Her and Gavin have two daughters and she is able to adjust her schedule to fit in with the children, which is a great benefit of running their own business.
Rhys has been working with Hanover Plumbing & Gas since April 2016. His plumbing background goes back to 1998 so he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him. He is a born and bred Taranaki boy. Rhys is a Certifying Gasfitter, and a Registered Plumber. His passion is in the gas side of the business in particular, the maintenance and installation of gas appliances.
Henry began working with Hanover Plumbing & Gas in June 2016. He is currently in his apprenticeship for plumbing/gasfitting. The small size of the team means that he’s able to be mentored closely so that he can learn from the range of experience of Gavin and Rhys. We look forward to supporting him as he trains in the trade!
